Transitioning Summer Clothing in to Fall

With the unofficial last weekend of summer behind us, I can’t help but start to seriously look towards fall and all the great clothing that comes with it. While I can’t wait to pull all my sweaters from storage, I’ve been trying to think of ways to wear my favorite summer pieces well in to fall. Why limit your options when you don’t have to, right? Here’s a couple of the ideas I’ve had percolating in my head lately.

Sleeveless dress

I’ve seen sleeveless dresses over chambray shirts and I love the way it looks. (Is there anything a chambray shirt can’t do?) I have a few sleeveless dresses that I can’t wait to pair over my chambray shirt.

Maxi skirt

I love a good maxi skirt. They just feel so right for summer. But I don’t plan on storing mine away once the cooler weather hits. There are few things I love as much as layering a sweater over a collared shirt, so why not pair that with a maxi skirt? Sometimes the best solutions are the easiest.

Hi-lo hem dress

I have a couple hi-lo hem dresses, I just love the look. And paired with two of fall’s quintessential pieces, the chunky cardigan and the knee-high boots, I can’t wait to wear them well in to fall now, too.

Every day is feeling more and more like fall. And since no one I know can afford a new wardrobe for every season, this is just one more way for me to get excited about the change in temps.

What summer pieces are you looking forward to wearing in to fall?

    1. Mustard is, and probably always will be, one of my favorite colors. And it pairs perfectly with mint. Love it.
