Last weekend, I met up with a couple of my lovely friends for dinner at BTG Wine Bar. This was my first time at BTG, but it had been at the top of my to-visit list since I realized a wine bar in our beautiful city in August.
I’m a sucker for a wine list with too many wines to choose from. The thing I love about a wine bar is knowing (or at least trusting) that I can get a great recommendation from the server. That’s generally the route I take when there’s more than just one or two options for each type of wine. It’s the perfect opportunity to try new wines.
We spent the evening sipping on wine and delicious whiskey drinks, eating delicious food from big sister restaurant Caffe Molise, and enjoying the not-too-crowded ambiance. We even enjoyed a rather eclectic music mix including Johnny Cash, Rolling Stone, and Bob Dylan.
Eva has long been my favorite downtown go-to for a Saturday night, but BTG Wine Bar has absolutely stolen my heart. As if a great wine list wasn’t enough, the cheese plate, bruschetta, spinach salad and desserts were enough to make me look forward to coming back before I’d even left.
In fact, I’m thinking a few hours at BTG Wine Bar is the perfect way to soften the blow of turning 30. I guess I have something to look forward to after all.
