There are few things I love more than finding a great cafe. Unlike any other type of eatery (in my opinion) cafes are often more than just good food and good coffee; they’re a gathering place. They have an atmosphere that makes you feel at home and lets you get lost in long, leisurely conversations. A great cafe can feel like a home away from home.
The Rose Establishment definitely fits this description. Located on Pierpont Ave, it not only has delicious food and coffee, it also has that perfect atmosphere that makes you want to sit down a stay a while. It wasn’t busy when I went (probably due to the snowstorm overnight) so my friend and I were able to get a great seat next to a window to enjoy our coffee and late breakfast. We lingered for a couple hours, just chatting and catching up.
That’s probably what I love most about cafes like the Rose Establishment. You don’t feel like you’re getting the evil eye from the staff if you hang out too long. It really feels like they want you to come in a hang out a while. This may become my new go-to place whenever I’m meeting someone downtown.
