Simple DIY Hair Treatments

OK, real talk. I have dry skin. Like, head-to-toe dry skin. Always have. That includes my scalp, which often manifests as flakiness. And that is not a good look, particularly because my hair is probably my favorite feature which means I am very vain about it.

Luckily, it’s actually a surprisingly easy problem to fix. About twice a month, I use a two-part hair treatment. Step one is a scalp treatment using your basic apple cider vinegar and tea tree essential oil. Mix a few tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, a few tablespoons of water, and about 15-20 drops of apple cider. Shake that up in a small amber glass, then spray it all over my scalp. I’ll kinda massage that in and then move on to part two.

Step two is a classic coconut hair mask. I melt a few tablespoons of coconut oil, let it cool a bit, then add about 3-5 drops of cedarwood. Mix that up, then carefully spoon that over my hair and massage it through evenly.

I clip my hair up and let it sit like that for around 30 minutes or so before washing. This combo works like a dream and my hair is legit Disney-princess soft and shiny afterward. Perfect Sunday night activity.
